Pete Sanstol defeated Maïolino when the towel was thrown in in the 3rd round ("jet de l'éponge au 3e round"). The fight with Maïolino was Sanstol's debut in France according to Le Rappel.
Until recently, it had been thought that Maiolino was an alias of Andre Didieu. It has now been determined that they are two separate boxers.
