Martin was able to make Stoy miss repeatedly with his left hand, while scoring with right hands of his own. Stoy had his best round in the 7th round, which he won by a wide margin, when he was able to score with his right hand to the face. The Lancaster New Era felt that Martin had an edge in the fight, while feeling Stoy appeared slow at the weight of 124 pounds.
