The Klamath Falls Herald felt this bout looked suspicious, as Gorman hadn't appeared to land any hard blows on Gordon, when his corner threw in the towel. Gordon was on the canvas, from blows that appeared to hit his arms, when the towel was thrown in.
The suspicious nature of this bout, played a role in Gorman not being paid in his subsequent Klamath Falls appearance against Benny Dotson, where he gave what was felt to be a poor performance by local officials.
