• A fairly matched battle between two New York City area journeyman losers. The winner, Duran, had no wins in his last seven bouts. In round three, Duran landed a power shot which cut Luna on the bridge of the nose and all over the face, prompting the stoppage by the ringside physician. Duran appeared to have trained for the bout to win, while Luna, 4-11-3, appeared to be out of shape and was taking a beating, which figured into the ringside physician's decision. Luna, winless in his last 10 bouts and who had not won since 2009, had been in a lot of tough wars and did not appear to have anything left. Duran, who had not won since 2010, gave a good accounting of himself and brought his record to 8-7-1. Some bouts scheduled for this card were cancelled creating this opportunity bout.
