Klingensmith couldn't continue due to a cut over his left eye, asking for the bout to be stopped. Klingensmith controlled the first four rounds, and dropped Harris with a left hook in the 1st round. Klingensmith tired after the 4th, but was well ahead at the time of the stoppage. The Deputy State Commissioner at ringside, Lou Shering, indicated after the bout that this would be Harris' last fight in Pittsburgh.
