- In the HBO preliminary to the main event between GGG versus Willie Monroe Jr., Gonzalez came forward and walked Sosa down, striking with straight power shots to the head in range, and power uppercuts in close. Sosa went down three times and was down on all fours when referee Raul Caiz Sr. stopped it. Sosa made no effort to try to get up after the third knockdown.
