Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission rules require all professional boxers to submit to mandatory post fight drug testing and urinalysis. Craig Lewis went directly to the hospital after winning a six round decision over Fred Latham (as his corner claimed) to be immediately checked out after the bout. However, Lewis did not take the required post fight drug tests and urinalysis. Lewis tested the following day, but the commission ultimately did not accept this as all fighters must be tested right after the fight in their dressing room area in the presence of the assigned commission official. Latham's corner appealed the outcome based on commission regulations. FIve months later, Latham's manager Derek Gionta found out in September 2015 Michigan officially overturned the result of the bout to a 'No-Contest' with official Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission notification of the revised bout outcome sent to FightFax and BoxRec.
