- Kovalev appeared unbothered by the presence of ex-trainer Abel Sanchez in the corner of Mohammedi. Knowing Mohammedi had been knocked out in the first round earlier in his career, Kovalev simply looked to place his power shots with accuracy and counter opportunity to take Mohammedi down. Kovalev did so, knocking Mohammedi down in the second and third rounds. In the third, Kovalev landed a power shot to the left eye of Mohammedi, who gave up and got counted out which blinking the eye. Mohammedi continued blinking the eye after the bout ended. Short bout.
