• In the preliminary bout to the main event of an Elton Dharry Promotions card in Jamaica Queens, New York, Hernandez took the fight to the inside for ten rounds and struggled with tall and awkward Loli Munoz of Spain. Munoz, who took yet another fight on short notice and is better than her record indicates with a high quality of opposition, might have set a female CompuBox record with around 700 to 800 punches thrown, and another record with most of those punches missing! Hernandez won every round by outworking Munoz except for the ninth round, when a lucky Munoz connected with a several power shot haymakers which scored, frustrating Hernandez in the nonstop toe to toe trading war. Munoz stoosd in front of Hernandez, and took a beating from Hernandez all night but wouldn't go. Two minute rounds in this world title bout.
