Elton Dharry 118 lbs beat Miguel Robles 117 lbs by KO at 2:46 in round 3 of 8

  • Delay in this main event bout of a six bout Pro-Am card due to the ringside doctor treating a spectator in dire need of medical assistance.
  • IBF Inter-Continental Bantamweight champion Elton Dharry of Guyana won his sixteenth straight bout, knocking out Miguel Robles in a nontitle bout. Robles got on his bicycle in the first two rounds, throwing meaningless flicking jabs on the run which fell short but not offering a target. In the third round, Dharry cut off the ring, and using his height and reach advantage landed a knockout blow putting the shorter but game Robles on his back in his own corner, where he was counted out. Brief frightening moment when Robles was out on the canvas for a few minutes, but he eventually got up and appeared okay, fortunately leaving the ring without assistance.
  • After the bout, former number one lightweight and super lightweight contender Lennox Blackmoore of Guyana, rated the number 125 BoxRec super lightweight of all time, and now a noted trainer in New York City, entered the ring to greet Fellow Guyana boxer Dharry. Blackmoore, who held the Guyanese and Commonwealth British Empire titles, fought Aaron Pryor for the WBA World Lightweight title in 1981 and also fought Antonio Cervantes. Sonya Lamonakis, Chris Galeano and Louis Cruz were among local boxers in attendance at ringside.
