Erkan Teper 252 lbs beat David Price 249 lbs by KO at 0:52 in round 2 of 12

  • In December 2015, German media outlet Bayerischer Rundfunk broke the news a post fight sample Teper provided in the aftermath of his devastating knockout win over David Price came back positive for an illegal substance. Despite the post fight result in July 2015, BDB German boxing authority which oversaw the fight did not publicly acknowledge the failed test in a coverup, and Teper was not punished for the drug offense.
  • It emerged that Teper had previously failed a test following his EBU title winning efforts against Newfel Ouatah in 2014. That result as yet to be changed to No-Contest.
  • Also revealed was German authorities uncovered a stash of various forms of performance enhancing drugs during a raid of the fighter’s car and hotel room. Due to the findings, criminal charges may be brought against the undefeated 33-year-old Teper.
  • Thanks largely to the discovery, exposure and efforts of German media outlet Bayerischer Rundfunk, five months after Tepper knocked out Price, the BDB, bowing to media pressure, disqualified Teper from his European Heavyweight championship win, and reversed the outcome of his bout with David Price to a No-Contest. Many boxing experts felt the BDB should disqualified Teper instead.
  • David Price's promoter Kalle Sauderland called for Erkan Teper to be banned from professional boxing
  • The EBU maintains that it was supervising the contest and as such EBU rules must be applied, therefore keeping the result of Teper WTKO 2 / 12 but stripping the title.
