Vic Darchinyan 122 lbs beat Prayoot Yaijam 120 lbs by TKO at 1:08 in round 2 of 10

  • Corrected BoxRec records by Prayoot Yaijam confirm his accurate pro record was 4-11 going into his Australian bout with Vic Darchinyan.
  • Prayoot Yaijam was 4-9 in Thailand through 2014. In 2015 Yaijam fought only in Australia, and was stopped twice in the first round in New South Wales, Australia. He was stopped in the first round by Corey McConnell in a PABA title bout in May 2015 at Town Hall in Gunnedah, New South Wales, and he was stopped in the first round by TJ Doheny in September 2015 at Club Punchbowl in Punchbowl, New South Wales. The mission of getting Darchinyan a comeback win after losing four months earlier in a World Boxing Association world title bout to Jesus Cuellar was accomplished. Yaijam's recent activity in New South Wales Australia-in his two previous bouts-should have raised 'red flags' with the matchmaker.

Note

  • When the Thai opponent, Prayoot Yaijam, was booked to fight Vic Darchinyan, his stated record on BoxRec was 12-4-0. Two days after the fight, it was suddenly 'amended' to 4-13-0, which is most likely his true record (4-12). Research showed dubious activity by the Thai BoxRec editor, and he subsequently felt the full force of Boxrec's boot (he was removed). Thai agent Tassanu Assawaphop was in the mix.
