- Now under new management, and no longer taking fights on short notice, Garcia landed some nice straight power shots to the face of Day, causing the vision in Day's left eye to blur. Day attempted to cover up on the ropes in an attempt to give his vision an chance to clear, but Day did not fight back, and Garcia gave him a head beating with both hands while Day had his back on the ropes, forcing an immediate stoppage by referee Eddie Claudio to score the minor upset. After the bout, Day's vision returned, and he was fortunately uninjured.
