A very strange match of the giant Ferguson and the 5'6" middleweight was the last of the preliminaries to the main event, a fight between Sam McVea and the French jujitsu champion which lasted all of 8 seconds. There was an amateur bout, a battle royal featuring 4 heavyweights (C. Buckingham (81k)of Ireland; L. Grognet (84k)of France; A. Bennett (83k) of England and a Van Rothen (105k) of Holland.) and two six round bouts. There are no details of the Marchand-Ferguson bout in any of the French dailies other than to state flatly that "...Marchand battu Ferguson."
