The sensational comeback of Bert Colima was checked last night when Ace Hudkins, the Nebraska Wildcat, lived up to his name and battered his way to a decisive victory in a savage fight. Colima was unable to fathom an offense or a defense that would check the relentless surging of the "Wildcat." With head down and nostrils bared Hudkins came steam rollering to the attack round after round. He flung wallops to the midriff. He smashed the kidneys. He clubbed the head. He had Colima dizzy with punches. But the Mexican fought back sturdily and was never gamer. Mickey Walker never gave him half the beating he took at the hands of the "Wildcat" last night. He went down before Walker's smacks, but stood to his guns last night and earned the respect of every man in the house who said he lacked courage. Blood was streaming from a cut over Colima's left eye, his nose was dripping claret and Hudkins's clubbing lefts at close quarters had reared monuments over his right brow and right cheek bone.
