Malone got off to a slow start in the bout, as he missed frequently and was hit to the body by Moore. After losing the first three rounds, Malone began to take control of the bout, using a body attack of his own to slow Moore. Malone landed a left hook below the belt that crumpled Moore, who was aided to his corner, and determined to be unable to continue.
