After a close first round, Moore won the next two rounds. In the 4th round, Bivins caught Moore with a right hand to the chin, that put him down for an eight-count. Bivins was at his best in the 5th round, rocking Moore with a right hand midway in the round. Moore won the rest of the way, as he was able to outpunch and outbox Bivins.

The bout was marred by fouling, with both being penalized in the 6th round; while Bivins lost the 3rd and 9th rounds, and Moore the 8th to fouls.
