BBBofC British Middleweight Title Bout
- Eubank, the BoxRec number nine middleweight in the world, wins BBBofC title in his second try, as Blackwell, in third defense, with a large swelling above his left eye, collapses in the ring during ringside doctor's inspection in the tenth round, taken to hospital still conscious.
- Blackwell removed on a stretcher with oxygen.
- According to British Boxing Board of Control General Secretary Robert Smith, Blackwell was placed by doctors into a medically induced coma with a bleed on the brain. Surgery an option, with Blackwell in critical condition.
- Blackwell's career probably over due to a minor bleed on the skull (not on the brain) which required Blackwell to be placed in a medically induced coma for seven days. Blackwell awoke on April 4, 2016, was fully conscious and coherent, and was fortunately expected to make a full recovery.[[1]]
