International Boxing Federation World Super Welterweight Title Bout

  • 24-0 Jermall Charlo makes second defense of his International Boxing Federation World Super Welterweight title.
  • Charlo moved forward with offensive pressure, while Trout moved side to side carefully boxing defensively and countering.
  • Holding was kept to a minimum, no fouls, fine refereeing job by Russell Mora to keep the bout clean.
  • Trout was cut above the right eye from punches thrown by Charlo in the tenth round. The cut did not affect the outcome of the bout.
  • Charlo was slightly ahead on jabs, power punches and overall punches landed and thrown. However, the bout appeared to be a bit closer than the scorecards indicated. Charlo won at least seven rounds on punches landed. Trout clearly won the first, seven, ninth and tenth rounds. Both fighters were in top condition, and emerged in fine shape. The 115-113 scorecard was closest to correct. Charlo clearly did win the bout.
