Rose knocked Brown down in the 5th round, with a right to the stomach, followed by a left to the head. Brown was struck low in the 6th round, and could have claimed the fight on a foul. Brown staggered Rose several times with right hands. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that the decision was disputed by many fans.
