Kehler: It is virtually certain that the BoxRec entry for this bout is incorrect. The February 10, 1928, edition of the Newark Daily News (Newark, NJ) made no mention of this bout, although the newspaper did report on a card at Newark's Lyric Theater on February 9, 1928. The bout between Nick Abate and Skeets Dundee may have occurred in Newark on a date other than 2-9-1928, or it may have occurred elsewhere on 2-9-1928, or it may not have occurred at all.
