• 2-0 Christian Carto outworked the tentative Nelson, whose offense never seemed to get set. Carto dropped the taller Nelson in the first, second, and third rounds. Nelson, taking a bad beating by this point, went down in the third round and got up, and the referee wisely stopped the contest. There was no protest from Nelson or his corner. In this bout, Nelson had awkward problems with his footing during the contest at various times.
