Pep won every round from Jackson, who did not appear interested in fighting and fought in retreat most of the bout. Pep scored the only knockdown of the bout in the 2nd round, when he knocked Jackson down with a left hook to the jaw for nine. This was Pep's first bout in eight months, after Army service.
