Pep had won every round, when he dropped Rafferty with a left hand for a nine-count. Pep swarmed all over Rafferty when he rose, and put him down for a second time, for no-count. Pep then dropped Rafferty for a third and final time, with a left hand. Rafferty rolled over on his stomach and was helped to his corner.
