"Lomski never left the issue in doubt and showed decisively that he is the best middleweight on the Coast. He cut both of Willis' eyes in the early rounds and punched the cowboy at will. At the end of the bout Willis' face was a sight to behold. Willis had an edge in only one round, the third, when he landed a series of hard rights and lefts that had Lomski staggering." (AP)
