  • Khurtsidze, inactive for over a year, wins first world title at age 37.
  • Khurtsidze got propelled into a July 2017 WBO World Middleweight title bout against 24-0 WBO regular titleholder Billy Joe Saunders.
  • Langford threw a left-right combination, but delayed in bringing his right hand back up rapidly. Khurtsidze landed a perfectly timed power left hook which sent Langford off the ropes and down to the canvas. Langford beat the count, but failed to walk forward upon receiving the referee's instructions to do so, automatically ending the contest.
