Referee Biddle declared that he scored for Valdez 4-2-2 in rounds, and that Moro had landed low blows in the 3rd and 4th round, while holding throughout the fight. Valdez also scored a knockdown in the 2nd round. The decision of the commission to reverse the decision was widely criticized, leading to calls to return to a system of using judges.
