Saddler opened the bout with a masterful display of infighting, as he worked Terranova's face. Terranova began to work in the 3rd round, as the two both fought inside, with Terranova landing the heavier blows. Saddler had a strong 7th round, landing several hard lefts to Terranova's head. Terranova took to the infighting in the 8th and 9th, as a tiring Saddler hung on.
