Sandy Saddler 129 lbs beat Proctor Heinhold 128 lbs by TKO at 2:02 in round 2 of 10
- Date: 1949-09-26
- Location: McNearney Stadium, Schenectady, New York, USA
- Referee: Louis Marks
Sandy Saddler had little trouble disposing of Heinhold. Saddler cut Heinhold’s face to ribbons in vicious infighting. Rapid fire left jabs brought blood streaming from Heinhold’s nose, eye and cheek. After battering the outclassed Heinhold into submission in the first round, Saddler moved in for the kill in the opening minute of the second round. Landing his blows almost at will, Saddler buckled Heinhold with a terrific left jab to the midsection. Heinhold went down for the count of five. After he arose Saddler resumed his punishing pummeling that sent Heinhold again on his knees, bleeding and beaten as the referee stepped in to end the massacre. [The Troy Record]
