Paulson knocked McCabe down in the 1st round for a two-count. McCabe gave Paulson a good scrap over the next four rounds, before Paulson turned the fight in his favor in the 6th round. Paulson hurt McCabe at the end of the 6th round, and knocked him down, with the bell ending the count at eight. McCabe was down once more in the 8th round, and twice in the 9th round.
