"Fusari was credited with eight of the ten rounds as he poured a constant barrage of punches to Priest's body." (The Ring, July 1948, page 54.
Fusari reversed the tables on Al (Red) Priest by winning a lop-sided ten-round unanimous decision at Boston Garden, Boston, Massachusetts. The fight was fast and furious, with both of them punching without a second letdown for the entire ten rounds. Fusari was lightning fast, moving with the speed of a lightweight and firing both hands with consistent and devastating results to Priest’s body. Right hands under Priest’s heart slowed him down considerably but failed to halt his determined effort to swing the fight his way. Fusari had the best of Priest in seven of the ten rounds. Priest’s best two rounds were the second and eighth and the tenth even. But there was no denying Fusari was superior, as all three officials were unanimous in their verdict. [Boston Globe]
