Ace Hudkins beat Spug Myers by PTS in round 10 of 10

"Using a terrific body attack as his main forte, Ace Hudkins scored a convincing victory over Spug Meyers. In the second Meyers caught Hudkins off balance and knocked him down. The Ace refused to take a count and was up immediately. The knockdown evidently angered Hudkins for he came back and copped the next two rounds. 'He bounced up like a rubber ball and almost murdered me,' Spug said to friends afterward. 'He's worse than tough- he's hard.' Meyers was backing all over the ring by the ninth round, Hudkins rushing him and slamming him with terrific body punches. In the final session Meyers was still sick from the pummeling he received in the preceding periods and did a lot of clinching. A red blotch the size of a watermelon showed on Meyer's side when the final gong sounded. Referee Irwin raised Hudkins's hand and the crowd roared its approval " Los Angeles Times
