Tunney Hunsaker, 180-pounder from Lackland, racked up his sixth and most impressive victory when he stopped former state heavyweight champion Ben Johnson after 2:59 of the second round. Johnson, who knocked out 26 of 41 fighters before retiring at the age of 22 four years ago, was no match for the hard-hitting Hunsaker who used a long left to good advantage, along with the right he always possessed. Johnson was driven to the canvas with a right to the jaw in the second and was thrown through the ropes a few seconds later. He wobbled up and was trying to hold on but the thick-chested Airman was smashing him at will and his nose was spurting blood. It was at first believed his nose was broken but he appeared to be ok an hour after the bout.
