Ridgeway gave Zazzarino a good battle for three rounds, before Zazzarino scored three knockdowns in the 4th round. Ridgeway rallied briefly in the 5th round, when he dropped Zazzarino for a no-count in a corner. Zazzarino hurt Ridgeway with a left hook to the body that led to a nine-count knockdown. Ridgeway staggered to his feet, but the referee stopped the bout.
