Emanuel was knocked down in the 1st round by a left jaw for an eight-count, after a flurry of punches along the ropes. Emanuel outboxed Fuente over the remainder of the bout, using his left jab and an occasional right cross to Fuente's head. Fuente sustained a cut left eye in the 7th round.
