Yarbo knocked Callahan out of the ring twice in the first round, and had Callahan down for no-counts and slips, in giving him a bad beating to start the fight. Callahan's left eye was cut and closing, as the first round ended. Callahan avoided the canvas in the 2nd round, but was downed twice in the 3rd, whereupon his corner threw in the towel.
