Williams had appeared to win two of the first rounds, with one even. In the 5th round, Williams hurt Jessup with a left hook. Jessup held on, but was floored by another left hook to the head for an eight-count. Jessup rose with a cut over his right eye, and was pounded, until the bout was stopped.
