Muhammad Ali 194 lbs beat Jimmy Robinson 177 lbs by KO at 1:34 in round 1 of 8
- Date: 1961-02-07
- Location: Convention Center, Miami Beach, Florida, USA
- This fight was on the undercard of Harold Johnson vs. Jesse Bowdry for the vacant National Boxing Association light heavyweight title.
- The Associated Press reported:
- Cassius Clay, 193½, Olympic light heavyweight champion, made short work of a substitute opponent in the scheduled eight-round semi-windup, belting out Jim Robinson of Kansas City, a last-minute substitute for Willie Gullatt of Miami, in the first round. A quick barrage of rights and lefts to the head put Robinson, 177½, down. He staggered to his feet at the count of nine but was in no condition to continue, and the referee stopped the one-sided affair at 1:34 of the opening round.
