Rubio was knocked down in the 1st and 2nd rounds, but rallied to wear down Cortlyn with a relentless attack. Cortlyn was down for the only time in the 6th round, and barely made it out of the round. He appeared out on his feet in the 7th round, and the referee stopped the bout in the 7th round.
