Cox was knocked down for a nine-count in the 6th round, by a series of punches; while Lowry was down at the end of the 10th round by a right to the side. Lowry was on the canvas at the count of four, when the bell rang, but appeared capable of rising, per the Fall River Herald News. It was felt by the Herald News that Cox had outboxed Lowry, as he had done in their previous bout, and was entitled to the verdict.
