Chuck Hellman beat Doc Snell by PTS in round 10 of 10

According to the Los Angeles Times, Snell won the first two rounds. However Hellman swept the next seven rounds, with the 10th even. Hellman effectively tied up Snell in the clinches and outboxed him from the outside, as Snell was seldom able to land.
The Los Angeles Evening Express reported that Hellman was battered in the first round, but was able to outbox Snell the rest of the bout. Hellman outscored Snell five-to-one, as Snell missed many blows. The Express felt that Snell that Snell might have earned a draw, as he did land all of the telling punches.
