• It was over in just 38 seconds. Tyson hurt Savarese with virtually every punch he landed during that span. Tyson scored a knockdown after fifteen seconds, from which Savarese recovered, before pinning him in the corner. After 26 seconds of the fight, the referee attempted to step in but Tyson continued to throw at Savarese, pulling referee John Coyle to the ground with one of his left hooks. Savarese rained in low blows in an attempt to stop Tyson. After Coyle was able to stop the fight, he awarded Tyson a knockout win in round one. Tyson later apologized to Coyle.
