Walter McGowan, 112, of Glasgow stopped Ray Jutras. 111 ¾, of Lowell, Mass., in the sixth round of a scheduled 10-round fight at Kelvin Hall last night. Referee Eugene Hendersen stepped in with the American unable to defend himself. McGowan, who set the pace of the fight from the opening bell, dropped Jutras with a combination to the head in the fourth round. Jutras took a heavy beating until Hendersen intervened midway in the sixth. McGowan won all five previous rounds on the AP scorecard.
