Silva knocked Marino down at the opening of the bout, with a left hook to the jaw, for a nine-count. Marino was quickly dropped again for eight, with another left to the head; and was down a third time before the round ended, on yet another left to the jaw, this time for nine. Silva continued to dominate in the 2nd round, and put Marino down for a fourth time, with another left to the head, this time for no-count. Silva continued to control the fight into the 3rd round, with Marino's only damaging punch being a shot to the midsection in the 2nd round. Marino began taking the fight to Silva in the 4th round, and landed a right to the body that hurt Silva, and got him to drop his hands. At this point, Marino shot a left hook to the jaw, which knocked out Silva.
