In round 5, referee Kenny Bayless ruled a knockdown in LeSpierre's favor. With round 6 ready to begin, Pedraza's corner lobbied Bayless to stop the action to review the knockdown. The referee is granted the authority to pause the fight at his discretion alone in order to review a knockdown via replay by NAC 467.682 Section 44 which was introduced into Nevada's boxing regulations the previous year. After a short review, the knockdown against Pedraza was overturned.
