Joe Rivers 129 lbs beat Claude Wilson 127 lbs by TKO in round 6 of 10
- Date: 1929-02-06
- Location: Coliseum, Saint Louis, Missouri, USA
- Referee: Harry Sharpe
Rivers knocked Wilson down for a nine-count in the 6th round, and then put him down for a second time. Wilson's second Jack Callahan at this point, threw in the towel. Under Missouri rules the corner couldn't throw in the towel, so the referee kicked out of the ring. Callahan entered the ring at this point, and tried to carry his fighter out of the ring. In the confusion Rivers hit Callahan with a jab. The bout ended up being stopped.
