“Forte had a slight edge through the first five fast rounds. In the sixth the Frenchman floored Forte twice, the first time for a count of eight and the second for a count which ended at “five” when the bell rang. The seventh round was Dauthuille’s all the way as he battered Forte with punch after punch. Early in the eight he trapped Forte in his own corner and dropped him for the count with a harsh right cross to the point of the chin.”
