Kasper had an edge early in the bout, and led on two scorecards after seven rounds. He began to tire after that though from the pressure of McDermott, and was knocked down in the 9th round for a four-count. Kasper was unsteady in the 10th round, when he was sent reeling from three right hands, before going down for the count from a solid jab.
