Welch knocked Jackson down at the end of the 2nd round. Jackson recovered to stagger Welch twice in the 3rd round, as Welch tried to finish him. In the 4th round, after Jackson had landed a good right to the head, Welch landed two lefts to the body, and two more to the head and sent Jackson to the canvas. Jackson got to one knee at the count of four, but got no further than there and was counted out.
