- Referee: Bill Regan
Clarence Hinnant, Washington, D.C., stopped Al Andrews, St. Paul, Minn., in 2:46 of the eighth round last night. The fight was fairly even with Hinnant having a slight edge when the end came. Hinnant had opened a slight cut over Andrews’ left eye with a right jab in the sixth and when they clashed in the eighth, Hinnant’s head crashed against Andrews’ left eye, leaving it bleeding profusely. Referee Billy Regan immediately took him over to Dr. Alexander Robbins who ordered the fight stopped with the decision going to Hinnant by a technical knockout. Each fighter weighed 163 ½.
